A Reserve Community is designed to supplement Saskatchewan Education's Grade Two Social Studies curriculum for classroom studies about the family and the community. The nucleus of this unit is the story, 'Cody's Community'. The story includes the concepts of identity, location, tradition, responsibility, transportation, occupation, community services and political structure. During the course of our unit, students will understand that a reserve is a community of First Nation's families; a reserve provides services to its residents; a reserve has a political structure; reserves have a history; and much more. This Canada lesson provides a teacher and student section with task cards, big book, storybooks, word search, and answer key to create a well-rounded lesson plan.

Seminar paper from the year 2011 in the subject Economics - Monetary theory and policy, grade: 1,7, The FOM University of Applied Sciences, Hamburg, course: Advanced Business English, language: English, abstract: Since the European Monetary Union was established in 1999 the worlds political attention has been drawn to two main central banks: the European System of Central Banks and the Federal Reserve System. The legal basis of the European System of Central Banks is the Treaty establishing the European Community and the Statute of the European System of Central Banks and of the European Central Bank. Since it's estblishments the European Central Bank has played a central role in both European and global financial markets. The Federal Reserve System was signed into law by the Federal Reserve Act in 1913. Although the Federal Reserve System was established long before the European System of Central Bank there are several similarities in the ways the central banks operate and control the monetay policy of their nations. But the central banks also differ in certain ways. Whereas the Federal Reserve System was established in order to rearrange the financial system of the United States, the European System of Central Banks started business in order to create a single monetary policy. The following chapters will give a closer look into both systems and their monetary policies.

Document from the year 2013 in the subject Environmental Sciences, grade: A, , language: English, abstract: The Purpose of this study was to examine the development condition of the community living close to the Kakamega forest and to recommend strategies for developing the community, so that the community can contribute more effectively to the co-management of the natural resources. The author worked with forest committees in order to study the development issues, needs and priorities of the community; the resources in the community; the community's judgment of the previous and current development projects; and the experience of the community in relation to the development projects. The author used situational analysis, direct and participant observation, as well as two focused group discussions to obtain the data. The participants were members of the forest committees who represent the communities living within the 10km radius from forest boundary. Study findings indicate that there are limited community development projects in the area. These projects cannot adequately meet the needs of the community and cannot sustainably lead to environment conservation. The community largely participated in the development as either casual laborers or self employed community group members. The willingness to participate was influenced by the desire to improve the living conditions, while barriers to participation included perceived corruption, myths about gender, age and development, as well as exclusion. This community has a wealth of the resources including, water, sugarcane waste, medicinal plants, and potential climate for agriculture, small scale land, skilled and unskilled labor. Development opportunities in the area include: The closeness of the area to the Kakamega town and its wide market; the unexplored tourism and wildlife sector near and in the Kakamega National Reserve; and the marketing of the Luhya culture in tourism. To keep a balance between conservation and community interest, policy and development strategies should emphasize investment in community development. This will reduce over reliance on the forest for most of the community's socio-economic needs.

The study assessed the economics of community participation in the restoration of the Bobiri forest reserve in Kubease, in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Data was collected from a sample of 400 respondents in the community of Kubease through a simple random technique. Using an opened ended technique, it was realized that all respondents (100%) enjoy some benefit(s) from the forest reserve. The benefits range from household ones (53.75%) to commercial (19.25%), traditional or cultural (6%) and environmental protection purposes (21%). The results showed that majority (87.25%) of the respondents were willing to contribute participation fees for the restoration of the Bobiri forest reserve (BFR). The annual Total willingness to participate fee (TWTPF) for the restoration of the BFR for the population of Kubease (26909) was GH¢2,502,537. The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression model revealed respondents monthly income, number of years in education and age to be significant at 5% level, number of dependents and employment status was also significant at 1% level. This study recommends that, community members should be informed and involved in decision making process of forest restoration
